The organization is in the process of being incorporated as a 501(c)6 corporation. Directors are currently being solicited and will be announced as they come on line.
Many of the organizations we would otherwise have chosen to operate our programs, like SPI or Public Knowledge and even EFF are incorporated as IRS 501(c)3, and are not allowed to influence legislation as a substantial (greater than 20%) part of their activities. Other organizations like GeekPAC don't entirely include our mission within their scope. Thus, we needed to create yet another organization. But we pledge to work together with those other organizations, and to serve as a resource for them.
