A while back I had the excellent assistance of several members of the Utah Free Software community in running our protest against the Novell-Microsoft agreement. They requested that I appear as keynote speaker at their Utah Open Source Conference. I agreed. Sometime after that, they moved the venue of their conference to a Novell facility. They informed me of this, and I said that would be fine as long as Novell was aware that my talk would probably be very negative about their company. They seem to have accepted that. I think facing them this way is a good thing to do. So, I'll be appearing at Novell on Thursday, September 6. For the record, my appearance there doesn't mean I've changed my opinion - I believe the Novell-Microsoft agreement betrayed their own developers, and will say that to their face. - Bruce Perens
